I grew up in a home where is was pretty much a requirement to learn to play the piano. My mother enrolled me in lessons when I was a child, and I was required to go each week. Although I wasn't particularly excited about playing the piano, after a few years I became quite skilled at it. I am incredibly grateful that my parents made me take piano lessons because now I have a great skill and love to play. When I moved out of my parents house, I knew it would be quite some time before I'd be able to afford to have a piano for myself. Pianos can be expensive, especially if you get a great one. Whenever I had the chance, I would go and look at the Steinway pianos in Washington DC. Steinway pianos really are the gold standard of pianos, and I dreamed of the day I could have one in my home. That day came sooner than I originally thought. I found that Steinway pianos in Washington DC are affordable and that there are options to buy used ones. I love being able to play the my favorite music on a Steinway whenever I want to. Share
